While the trend in journal subscriptions has been toward exclusively electronic publication, CTU subscribes to dozens of titles that are still available in print. The changes in our space that began in the summer of 2023 have meant that some print journals may be temporarily inaccessible, but the Library staff is available to assist in finding whatever you may be looking for!
The Library's journal collection was reviewed in the summer of 2023 and substantial changes were made. Download the Excel file below for the most recent listing of the changes made to the individual titles the Bechtold Library has been receiving. These changes may not be reflected in the CTU catalog, Primo.
Note that many titles previously received individually are part of collections that CTU continues to subscribe to. See the Electronic periodicals tab for more information on accessing them.
Questions about periodicals holdings should be directed to Library Director Kris Veldheer.
Journals that CTU currently receives in print are located on the south wall of the Library. This section is being reconfigured due to changes in our physical space. Many of the titles that will eventually be here are in temporary storage areas that can only be accessed by Library staff. Please e-mail Aileen Mulchrone for assistance locating current issue of print journals that you don't see on the shelf.
The Library catalog (Primo) is the primary tool used search for print titles held by CTU. To limit your search to journals, use the Advanced Search screen and select Journals from the Material Type field on the right.
If your results list includes a periodical titles with a location in the Periodical Stacks, you'll see a call number where you can find older issues of the journal on the shelf.
Click this link and then scroll down to the section called "Get It" to see details about the years that are available. In this case, CTU has print copies of volumes 1 through 80.
If the issue you need is within the date range specified, any staff member can help you locate the bound volumes on the shelf.
Periodicals can't be checked out, but scanners are available so you can send yourself copies of the articles you need.
If you're off campus and need an article that's only available from our print collection, please e-mail Aileen Mulchrone for help obtaining a scanned copy.
